Gyro stabilized with Sony Mini DV Camera PC-100 Gyro Stabilizer
Since November 1999, this idea has been lurking inside my mind. The Camera is balanced by the driven gyro on the top. This will provide some inertial stability ala Steadycam system.

However the gyro will only compensate for Y and Z axis. I was thinking of leaving the x axis in control of the tail rotor gyro for the first experiments.

The servos are modified for open loop and are geared for a 1:4 ratio.

As a further experiment, I am interested in combining two or more gyros to effect a single axis only ( a single gyro stays stable in 2 axis...I want it to stay stable only on one axis).
That is to eliminate precission which ocurs when one tries to change the attitude of a spinning mechanical gyro.

Should anyone have any idea, kindly contact me at

X = Pan Axis
Y = Tilt Axis
Z = Roll Axis ( horizon )
